This Saturday is the Port Day of Âldtsjerk. Of course, we will be there with some of our boats. It is our intention to be present with the PV-sportsboat and the Liyang boat. Unfortunately we will not bring the A-class boat, because this boat isn’t ready to sail yet. We have painted almost the whole A-class boat and the components that need to be installed in the boat are being manufactured. We are also working on the elaboration of the steps that the DONG Energy Solar Challenge uses. If these steps are finished, we can hand them in and the race organization can judge the answers.
We also started with building the C-class boat. We are calculating the amount of material we need to realize the design. The molds have almost completely been customized to realize this design. Furthermore the innovative ideas and final designs are being discussed at the moment. Besides the ‘real’ building, we are also creating a piece of software for data analysis and indirectly the race strategy for the DONG Energy Solar Challenge 2012. This system will be tested into perfection and the results will be recalculated to check if the software produces the correct results. We have enough time to do this, because we can sail with the A-class boat very soon and we can also test the software with data from the DONG Energy Solar Challenge 2010.
