The Executive Board of NHL University of Applied Sciences visited the Engineering department last Thursday. Besides visiting a project for applying windenergy, they took a look at the workshop of NHL Solarboat Racing. During the visit one of the members of the team gave a presentation about the ideas of NHL Solarboat Racing and the plans for the next few years. The ideas are also focused on promoting NHL University of Applied Sciences on a positive way.
At this moment we are working to make the boat for the Liyang team ready to sail. There are some small problems with the drive train and the propellor but these problems are being solved so the boat can sail again. The boat for the Liyang team will also be checked for other problems, so we can test with two boats if the A-class boat of NHL Solarboat Racing is ready to sail. Basically we have to get the boats ready for the upcoming events:
- Havendag Âldtsjerk at April 21
- Reuzedei in Akkrum at May 19
Next to that there is a lunchtime lecture of NHL Solarboat Racing scheduled on NHL University of Applied Sciences for the 5th of April. The boat for Liyang will be placed near ´the pit´ in the NHL building so everyone can take a look at it. Besides this we will show the visitors our CompositesLab where we are working on our A-class boat. In this way positive attention is payed to NHL Solarboat Racing.
