Last week the administration for some things has been finished which meant NHL Solarboat Racing could welcome two new members of the team. Jelmer Liefers, student Mechanical Engineering in his second year, has gained a lot of experience during the DONG Energy Solar Challenge 2010 in which he participated with the team of the ROC Friese Poort. Maarten Trilsbeek, coordinator of Mechanical Engineering, participated with Hanze Hogeschool in a previous edition of the DONG Energy Solar Challenge. More information about both newcomers will be placed later on our teampage.
The boat for the university of Liyang got the final coating and was picked up last Tuesday. This boat is now stored by the NHL Knowledge Center for Yachts and will be transferred soon to the municipality of Leeuwarden. The original plan was to ship the boat to China allowing the team from Liyang to make a comparison with their own boat there. Now the Chinese team will travel to The Netherlands in a few months with the boat that is built in Liyang. They will compare the boats here in Friesland to test which boat is the best.
